Welcoming this glorious duo, Teddy and his friend Hedgehog from Steiff's sustainable Teddies for Tomorrow series, recycling materials into alternative fabrics and fillings, courtesy of the German, master teddy bear maker, Steiff.
Teddy is a friendly and cuddly sort of bear. He has been crafted from a luxuriously, soft and dense, textured, close-pile linen plush and lovingly filled with corn fibre stuffing. His endearing face, features glossy black safety eyes and a sweet hand stitched, cocoa thread nose and mouth. Like other Limited Edition, Teddies For Tomorrow, he wears a chest tag of highly polished brass, featuring the Steiff Company logo from 1897. To finish, he wears a matching mittens and scarf set with fluffy white trim and embroidered snowflakes.
His wee friend, hedgehog is created from white-tipped, cocoa plush (for his not so sharp prickles) and organic cotton. Like Teddy, he two has the most endearing of faces with glossy black safety eyes and a wee hand stitched, black thread nose, with minimal hand shading bringing contour and depth. Within his paws he holds a two leaf shaped holly leaf sprig with a trio of vibrant red berries. The dark green tone of the wool felt sprig, matches with Teddy's scarf set.
The sleigh on which Hedgehog rides is crafted from wood, with a two-tone red and white pull cord and brass effect bell.
Both pieces wear their 'Button in the Ear' trademark, with matching Limited Edition numbers on their satin tags. They are a Worldwide Limited Edition of 2,020 sets and will come to you boxed, with their matching numbered certificate of authenticity.
