A 'Teddies for Tomorrow' creation, shows us how our beautiful future companions can really be, by using the natural materials around us and recycling them for our specific needs. Even returning to the temporary manufacture of bygone materials in place of the usual mohair, alpaca and plush. Meet the colourful Harlequin, inspired by the vibrancy of the roaring 1920's, the contrasting tones of his uniquely patterned coat, (named after him), plus his appealing odd eyes and show stopping paws, whilst also paying homage to his ancestor, a circa 1925 mohair original, that over the years appeared in many sizes and guizes.
Harlequin is a fully jointed Teddy Bear. He has been sewn from two resplendent and unique, dyed long-pile, paper plush in cherry red and air force blue, with striking ochre-yellow Alcantara paws of faux suede and lovingly stuffed with corn fibres. His contrasting glass eyes of blue and red just shimmer, above his carefully, scissor sculpted, paper plush muzzle, that is home to a smart, hand stitched black thread nose and mouth. Like all new designs he wears his gold-plated button in the ear with white tag and red print, but unlike most new designs, he bears a chest tag of highly polished stainless steel, featuring the Steiff company logo from 1897.
This Masterpiece is a Worldwide Limited Edition of only 2,020 pieces and will come to you in his Limited Edition Gift Box, with his matching numbered, certificate of authenticity.
