Galeries Lafayette is a French, luxury department store that was founded in 1912. Today it is the biggest chain store in Europe. Himbeer Ours Framboise (Himbeer Raspberry Bear), is a Galeries Lafayette Exclusive from 1995, courtesy of the German, master teddy bear maker, Steiff.
Himbeer is a 40 cm / 16" fully jointed teddy bear, with a tip and tilt growler. He has been sewn from the finest, luxuriously dense, berry red mohair, with black velvet paws, featuring the Galeries Lafayette logo embroidered in red thread on his right sole. He has glossy black eyes, with a smart, hand stitched black nose and mouth, plus a black ribbon bow keeping the two-tone red and black look.
He is an Exclusive Limited Edition of 1,500 pieces and comes in his original box, with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
Please look at all the images provided. His original box does show signs of minimal storage, as would be expected. This does not deter from the charm of the bear and has been priced accordingly.
