It has been over 30 years since Disney released their now animated classic of Beauty and the Beast. A story of an arrogant Prince cursed to have the appearance of a beast, whilst living in an enchanted castle, alongside his servants who are now everyday objects … that is, until he finds true love. The Beast is a 42 cm / 16.5", mohair piece with a turn-able head and poseable wired arms. The Beast himself is said to resemble many a wild animal including the lion, wolf, bear, boar and buffalo, making him a real chimera and Steiff have continued with this for their depiction too. He has been sewn from the finest, luxury mohair in a short pile and a denser, almost fluffy pile in varying shades of tan and blonde, with black velvet trousers incorporated into his body, with wool felt claws on his digit defined paws, faux suede horns and wool felt tusks. He has embroidered blue eyes, with a shaped face, emphasising his nose, bottom lip and bone structure, whilst carefully applied hand shading has been used in order to define his look, not only upon his face, but his mane, paws and tail. Being of royal blood, his tailored clothing consists of a decadent, blue-velvet tailcoat with frilled cotton cuffs, applique buttons and piped trim, whilst the yellow waistcoat worn beneath, compliments his white cravat and his embroidered 'turquoise' and 'gold' pin. He's now ready to dance with Belle!
This glorious Licensed character is made in collaboration with Disney, by Steiff and is a Worldwide Limited Edition of 2,000 pieces. He will come to you boxed, with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
