2002 bought the 50th Anniversary of Harry Corbett's much loved, mischievous yet magical, hand puppets Sooty, Sweep and Soo. In fact Richard Cadell, who purchased the rights in 2007 from Matthew Corbett, Harry's son, still can be found performing in stage shows today. On offer is the "Izzy whizzy, let's get busy" spell casting Sooty, courtesy of the British teddy bear makers, Deans Rag Book Co
Sooty is a 27cm / 10.6" , fully jointed, character bear. He has been sewn from two luxuriously dense mohair in yellow gold, with glossy black for his ears, plus tactile faux suede for his paws, with his right sole featuring the iconic, Deans Rag Book Co. logo badge and his left, embroidered in black thread '50 Years' confirming his celebration. He has glossy, two-tone amber eyes with a kissable hand stitched, black thread nose and mouth and wears a pair of bright red cotton dungarees. It's rare to see Sooty's dungaree legs, let alone his paws! making this Sooty Teddy much sought after.
