This fabulous 'hug' of a bear is a 1921 Replica of one in the Steiff archives. Released at a time when the economy was booming, art deco was over-coming the traditional and the bigger the better, became a motto. From the master teddy bear makers, Steiff it's their 1921 Replica White Mohair Teddy Bear.
1921 is a sizeable 70 cm / 27.5" fully jointed teddy bear, with a tip and tilt growler. He has been sewn from a luxuriously dense and curly, white mohair with warm wool felt paws and stuffed with excelsior. Unlike the original though, he has forgone his boot button eyes, for sparkling, two-tone brown glass and features a light-chestnut hand stitched nose, mouth and claws. This nod to tradition albeit, his size brings charm and personality, becoming the focus of any room or collection.
From 2004 this Limited Edition is one of 1,921 pieces and will come to you boxed, with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
