This glorious duo will long be remembered as the endearing, wide-eyed fawn who cruely lost his mother and a bunny best friend who guides and teaches him. I am of course talking about Bambi and Thumper, the marvellous woodland duo loving recreated by Steiff, in collaboration Disney.
Bambi is 16 cm / 6" in size and a non-jointed fawn. He has been sewn from a mix of luxurious mohairs. A short-pile toffee and buttercream, with a longer tufty-pile in toffee for the top of his head. Delicate hand shading has created his hooves and defined his ears, whilst his renown markings upon his back and appealingly endearing facial features have been embroidered lovingly into place. Just as I remember!
Thumper is 16 cm / 6" in size and a non-jointed bunny. He has been sewn from a mix of luxurious mohairs. A short-pile grey and cream, with fluffier mid-piles again in cream and white, with palest pink for his nose and a more vibrant rose pink for is stroke-able inner ears. Just like his companion Bambi, Thumper too has had his endearing facial features embroidered lovingly into place and to finish, a wonderful faux suede front tooth completes his forever look. Fabulous!
