Bushy rootballed Portugal Laurel hedging plants that are currrently between 1.6 and 1.8m tall from the top of the rootball to the tip of the plant. These are approximately 6 years old.
These are also called Prunus lusitanica 'Angustifolia', 'Myrtifolia' or Portuguese Laurel.
These hedging plants are rootballed. This means they are dug straight from the field with a ball of soil around the roots. The ball of soil is wrapped in hessian. Rootballed plants can be planted as they are, there is no need to take the rootball wrapping off as it will biodegrade naturally. Rootballed hedging plants can be planted from November to early April. For more information, see our blog “What are rootballed plants?”
We recommend planting 60-90cm (2-3ft) apart depending on how quickly you would like the plants to form a screen. Planting 2ft apart creates a quicker screen. Please see our hedging spacing calculator to help you work out how many you need.
NB We measure height from the top of pot to the top of the plant.
