In 1952, Willy Breitling developed a wrist-worn chronograph with a circular slide rule that would allow pilots to perform all necessary flight calculations. Two years later, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) announced the design as its official timepiece. The “navigation timer” – or Navitimer – was born. The AOPA was (and remains) the largest pilots’ club in the world, counting nearly every US aviator among its ranks. As the defacto pilot’s watch throughout the glory days of civil aviation, the Navitimer was worn by airline captains and aircraft enthusiasts. This new launch for 2022 features a more refined case for the Breitling Navitimer with a 46mm stainless steel case and more refined bidirectional bezel. The blue dial features 3 silver chronograph zones, with silver index markers, and luminescent tipped hands. The watch is equipped with a B01 self winding mechanical movement which has a 70 hour power reserve. The watch is presented on a 24/20mm stainless steel signatory Navitimer bracelet with fold over clasp.This Breitling model comes complete with a 5 year warranty.
