Product Details
These Leylandii (Green) hedging plants plants are currently 1.2 to 1.4m tall (approximately 4ft to 4ft 7 inches tall).
They are in 5 litre pots. 5 litre pots are approx 18cm wide by 19cm deep. We recommend a minimum hole size of 27cm wide (square) by 21cm deep.
Please note: we measure height from the top of the rootball to the tip of the plant. Heights quoted will be the height of the plants on delivery. The eventual height of the hedge will depend on pruning. Once the plants have reached your desired height, we recommend that the hedge be trimmed once or twice a year. If you trim it twice a year, you will have fewer clippings to dispose of.

Planting Distance
We recommend planting Leylandii hedging plants between 60 cm and 100 cm (2 to 3 feet) apart. The distance you choose depends on how quickly you want to create a dense screen:
For a quick, dense screen: Plant at 60 cm (2 ft) intervals.
If you are willing to wait a little longer (or want to grow your hedge or Leylandii trees taller than 5 metres tall): Plant at 100 cm (3 ft) intervals.
Alternatively, a you can compromise at 75 cm (2 ft 6 in) apart to save on cost.
Please use our Hedge Spacing Calculator to determine the exact number of plants you need.
Watering your Leylandii
If you plant during the drier months (March to September), your plants will require regular watering until winter (usually late October or early November). Even if you plant in the winter, your hedging plants may need to be watered in the first couple of years if we get long, dry spells of weather.
Watering Guidelines:
Check the Soil: Push your finger into the soil or the plant's root ball to test the moisture level.
Keep it Moist: For the best growth rate and to prevent drought stress, the soil must be kept consistently moist—never allow it to dry out.
Avoid Waterlogging: Ensure the soil is moist, but never waterlogged.
