To plant, you will need to dig a hole at least 45 x 45cm (square) by 30cm deep, break up the ground well and add Greenshutters 12-month controlled-release feed. For more detailed information please see our Advice Page or give us a call to discuss, we are all able to help you.-
Planting distance – Use our Hedge Spacing Calculator to decide how many plants you need. We recommend planting these Leylandii plants between 60-100cm apart. (2-3 feet). The closer you plant, the quicker the hedge will establish into a thick, dense screen.
Trimming – With leylandii very gentle side trimming from a young age encourages more dense growth. We do this for you at the nursery before the plants are delivered. Continue to trim the sides of your hedge when planted, but leave the top of your hedge grow to its final height before you cut the top shoot.
Delivery is from our nursery in Somerset. We can ship nationwide via pallet courier, or you can collect from Greenshutters Garden Centre based in Somerset we are open 7 days a week.
