Please bear in mind that the further you are from our nursery in Somerset, the more the delivery will cost. We have a minimum order of 3 plants for delivery. Plants are available to collect from Greenshutters Nurseries & Garden Centre near Taunton in Somerset and there is no minimum order. To create a hedge, we recommend that you plant Leylandii 2001 between 60 and 100cm apart (2-3ft) depending how quick you want the hedge to form into a dense screen. If you want a quicker screen, plant at 60cm (2ft) apart or if you are willing to wait a bit longer for the hedge to form or are going to grow them over 5m (15ft) tall, plant at 75cm or 100cm apart (approx 2ft 6in to 3ft). You can use our Hedge Spacing Calculator to work out how many you need. 25 litre pots are approximately 35cm in diameter by 28cm deep. We recommend a hole at least 55cm wide (preferably square) by 30cm deep. Break up the soil in the bottom of the hole with a spade or fork for at least another 30cm depth. This allows the roots of the plants to get into the soil easily and allows any excess water to drain. We also recommend using our commercial controlled-release fertiliser that lasts for 12 months and has all the nutrients the leylandii need for the first year. Recommended rate for these plants is 100g per plant. Delivery usually within 1-7 working days depending on how busy our van is and where you are located. Please note: we measure height from the top of the rootball to the top of the plant. Heights quoted will be the height of the plants on delivery. The eventual height of the hedge will depend on pruning. Prices are per plant and include VAT but not delivery.
