The continued inspiration for the 4th release from the Mother Goose Series, stems from illustrations made by Kate Greenaway, for Olde Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, it is the captivating wee mouse – Little Jack Horner and he has been beautifully crafted, by the artisans at R John Wright.
Little Jack Horner is just 3" tall with a turnable head and moveable shoulders. He has been sewn from a luxurious, mohair plush with dainty resin paws, fine whiskers, glossy black glass eyes and a leather tail. His enchanting features have been paid much attention, in the art of scissor sculpting and airbrush shading. He is adorned in a decadent period costume. A two piece suit made from silk, with a contrasting hue of silk ruffles for the collar and cuffs, whilst faux pearl buttons add that finishing touch. Upon his head resting at a jaunty angle, is a wool felt, wide brimmed hat, with a silk band and an exuberant feather plume. Little Jack would not be Little Jack Horner without his christmas pie … and here it is, in his delicate wee paw, upon a custom made pewter pie plate, with a truly realistic, felt pie crust, enhanced by hand painting and shading – a true show of workmanship and talent in itself. An outstanding masterpiece!
