From the award winning New Zealand Teddy Bear Artist Robin Rive, we introduce her millennial piece for her Countrylife Collection, Kiri a maori inspired, commemorative, collectable limited edition, artist teddy bear.
Every morning New Zealand is the first so see the first light of the day's sun, therefore when the world said goodbye to 1999, they were the first to greet the new millennium and welcome it in – the dawning of a new age.
Kiri is a fully jointed teddy bear, with a story to tell. His name is maori for tree bark and is gender neutral. He is adorned with a piece of paua shell, which itself is a recognised maori treasure, that is traditionally associated with the stars being symbolic, for the eyes of the ancestors watching over them. He has been sewn from a luxurious and dense, shaggy wheat-blonde, mid-pile mohair, woven upon a darker cotton backing, plus tactile, cocoa suede paws with his right sole featuring a facsimile of the Robin Rive logo and her signature, whilst glossy black eyes with a hand stitched black nose upon his carefully trimmed muzzle, certainly wields the charm. To finish, a paua shell pendant graces his neck. No two pendants will be the same, as they are created from nature.
This glorious bear is a Worldwide Limited Edition of just 200 pieces and comes with his numbered, Certificate of Authenticity, plus a card with more information about Kiri himself.
