With a list of adorable nicknames, including cat-bear, we introduce Bendy the Red Panda of South West China. A glorious design from the outstanding German maker – Steiff, in collaboration with National Geographic.
Classified as being on the Endangered Red list, the Red Panda is in danger of losing it's home, due to decimation of habitat and poaching. Due to this, China has created 35 protected areas, with India following suit with 20, to help conserve this elusively shy fellow.
The Red Panda was photographed by Joel Sartore, for National Geographic and their Photo Ark, Species Preservation Project.
Bendy is 30cm / 11.8" in size and non-jointed, with wire supports for his front legs to ensure he keeps his posture. He has been sewn from a mix of luxuriously soft, close pile plushes in russet, brown tipped caramel and white accents (including his fluffy ear tips). His white soles have been hand painted to form his paw pads, whilst his glossy safety eyes and velvety black nose, (including overall face), also have the same applied detailing and shading to shape and define. He's quite magnificent!
This Red Panda wears his Steiff button-in-ear with a yellow label and is surface wipeable.
This Steiff product conforms to European safety standards, holding the CE symbol.
