Sylvester J. Pusscat Sr or Sylvester or Puddy Tat, as he is sometimes known, first appeared in 1945 and was partnered with his nemesis Tweety Pie in 1947, in a film of the same name. Then his name was 'Thomas' and it was later in 1948, that he officially became 'Sylvester'. He is a three time Academy Award winner and in the 'golden age' of cartoons, he appeared in 103. Sylvester is still around today alongside Granny, Butch and Tweety in the 'Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries.
This fabulous character, has cleverly been given three dimensional form, thanks to the talented artisans at Steiff.
Sylvester is 34cm tall and fully jointed. He has been sewn from two luxurious, short pile mohairs in crisp white and jet black, with crimson red for his over large nose. His elongated oval eyes, that convey so much emotion and scheming on film, are cartoon designed safety eyes, whilst black acrylic whiskers add the final, magical touch.
