The darling wee Tweety has now escaped from the silver screen and been given form, by the clever artisans at Steiff.
Switched at the last minute, by director Fritz Freleng and replacing a woodpecker, a certain yellow canary was given the spot light. That canary was Tweety Pie, being showcased for the first time, alongside Sylvester Cat. The 1947 film, an animation short entitled 'Tweety Pie' became an instant hit, winning an Academy Award, breaking the legendary four year, consecutive winning streak of Tom and Jerry and as they say, … the rest is history!
Tweety Pie is 16cm tall and non-jointed. he has been sewn from two luxurious mohairs. His signature yellow, with orange accents for his overlarge feet and twee beak. His big oval eyes, with their must-have fluttering lashes, have been embroidered, sweetly into place, whilst his dainty size means that he can sit, charmingly in your hand.
Designed with Warner Brothers, the lovably enchanting Tweety Pie, is a Worldwide Limited Edition of just 1,500 pieces and will come to you boxed, with his numbered certificate of authentcity.
