The Jungle Book was the final animated film to be produced by Walt Disney himself, in 1967. Walt Disney sought to make his version of The Jungle Book a lot more upbeat than the Rudyard Kipling-penned. When the idea for “I Wan’na Be Like You” was first thought up they married this with the image of an ape who swings from a tree, and he’s the king of the apes. And the famous scene with Baloo dressed in his grass skirt was born. Steiff have triumphed with King Louie and Baloo capturing this iconic performance.
Now for the bear necessities – Baloo is 15cm tall and 3 way jointed, he is made using the finest mohair in cream and grey, his velvet paws are enhanced with stitched toe details. He is wearing his famous green wool felt grass skirt.
King Louie is 14cm tall and 5 way jointed, he is made using the finest mohair, a shaggy orangy/brown for the main part of his body with a shorter peach coloured mohair for his tummy, his hands and feet are made of lilac wool felt with stitched toe details.
Baloo and King Louie are a limited edition of 967 pieces and the pair will come to you boxed with their certificate of authenticity.
