In 1924 the teddy bear market was booming, none more so that in America, where they soon realised that the States were actually steamrolling Steiff's production. As a way of saying thank you, they decided to listen to feedback and Teddy Bu was born in a low limited edition of just 200 exclusive to the U.S. In 1999 he was revived as a 1925 Replica, now available to all by the master teddy bear makers, Steiff.
Bu is a 30 cm / 12" fully jointed teddy bear. He has been sewn from a luxuriously dense, white short-pile mohair, with matching, wool felt paws and is excelsior stuffed. His appealing face is home to twinkling, two-tone brown glass eyes, with a smart hand stitched, black thread nose and mouth. To finish he wears a wool felt, russet waistcoat decorated with six brass buttons. Magic!
