Their box is as important as the bears themselves – you see, it depicts the romantic balcony scene, between the two and within the scene itself, you'll locate a key to play a turn-key Swiss movement, musical box.
This magnificent duo is from 1999/2000 and features the famous lovers Romeo and Juliet in their renown balcony seen.
Romeo is a 9 " / 22cm, fully jointed teddy bear. He has been sewn from a luxuriously wavy, chestnut mohair, with paler hued, wool felt paws. He has glossy black eyes with a matching hand stitched black nose, whilst a white cotton shirt, in a period design completes his look.
Juliet is an 8" / 20cm, fully jointed teddy bear. She has been sewn from a luxuriously wavy, rose pink mohair, with paler hued, wool felt paws. She has glossy two-tone chestnut eyes, with a hand stitched red nose, whilst a period inspired dress of a darker bodice and flowing tulle skirt, completes her.
They are both attached securely within the decorated box, with Juliet above Romeo and upon her balcony. The scene is colourful with detail such as the paved courtyard, brick and plaster walls, plus a decorative tree. Now for the secret surprise.
Within the scene is a secret turnkey that activates the music box. It plays Lionel Ritchie's "Endless Love". Have you found it?
