This enchanting Exhibition Bear has a lot of history, wrapped up in his wee frame. He was only available at the 2003 – UK Spring Trade Fair and celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the 1903 Leipzig Spring Fair in Germany, where he was first showcased by Richard Steiff, as PB55, the World's First Jointed Teddy Bear.
The Exhibition Bear is 21cm tall, fully jointed and represents the original PB55. He has been sewn from a decadent, white mohair, with contrasting wool felt paws, two tone brown, glass eyes, with matching hand stitched claws, nose and mouth. In his paws is a large ball, constructed of many pentagon pieces of coloured mohair, reminding us of the many bold colours that the Steiff Bears appeared in (including those four missing sample bears), at the beginning of the 20th century.
This delightful piece of history memrobilia is a UK Limited Edition of only 1,500 Bears and will come to you boxed, with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
