Concorde was the name given to a supersonic plane developed in the late 1970's, who's premier flight from London to New York occurred in November 1977. Twenty-six years later, after almost 50,000 flights carrying 2.5 million passengers across the world at Mach Speed, she was removed from service. This beautiful Steiff Captain Mach Teddy Bear pays tribute by celebrating this spectacular plane and the genius behind it.
Captain Mach is 36cm / 14" tall and fully jointed. He has been sewn from a luxuriously dense, silver grey mohair with navy blue wool felt paw pads, plus endearing glossy black safety eyes, along with a matching hand embroidered nose and mouth. His foot pads feature two embroidered iconic landmarks in silver thread. The statue of Liberty for New York and Big Ben for London, reminding us of that first passenger flight. Whilst his peaked navy blue captains cap, with silver braid trim, glossy visor and silver thread embroidered 'Airforce' motif completes his white collar and navy blue tie pilots uniform.
This rare piece is not just for arctophiles, but for plane, aircraft and Concorde enthusiasts and historians too.
Captain Mach is a UK Exclusive from 2004 and is a Limited Edition of just 1,500 bears. He will come to you boxed with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
