From 1997 and available only as a North American Exclusive, from Steiff retailers, we have on offer, a very rare set. A Steiff Teddy Bear as a Delivery Driver, along with a Red DeSalle Delivery Tonka Truck.
Don and Barbara DeSalle designed the collectable, pressed steel Tonka Trucks in the mid nineties. They opted for a round 1956 fender and 1958 square fender for their Tonka Trucks from that era.
Teddy is 16cm tall and fully jointed. He has been sewn from the finest, chestnut mohair with contrasting, pale wool felt paws. He has glistening eyes, with a charming, hand stitched black nose to match. He wears his 'delivery' attire – a cotton lined, frayed edged, denim waistcoat, with the Steiff logo upon the back.
The red DeSalle truck is 12.5" long and 5.5" tall (height of cab), weighing in at 1kg. It is labelled underneath with 'DeSalle Collector Trucks – The Palmetto Picker'. The truck has been crafted from pressed steel and decorated red with black rubber tyres, chrome painted trims, running boards and Steiff decals upon ther doors and chain secured, tail gate.
The two come as a pair, but please note that Teddy is Limited Edition (the DeSalle trucks were never numbered). He is a North American Exclusive of just 1,500 pieces and will come to you boxed, along with the Red DeSalle Tonka Truck, plus his numbered certificate of authenticity.
