This fabulous creation celebrates 200 years since the British explorer, naval officer and cartographer, Captain James Cook's discovered Australasia (Australia and New Zealand) and as such is a rare Australia and New Zealand exclusive, courtesy of the German master teddy bear maker, Steiff.
Capt Cook is a 26cm fully jointed teddy bear. He has been sewn from the finest luxurious dense and shaggy-textured rich gold mohair with warm wool-felt paws, enquiring glossy black eyes and matching hand stitched features. Around his neck sits a sumptuous satin green ribbon attached to a metal pendant. The double-sided round disc features Australasia and it's islands on the front, whilst on the reverse is the wording Captain James and the Steiff 'Button in the Ear' logo.
Released in 1996/1997 Captain Cook is a remarkable vintage piece and exceptionally hard to come by. He is an Australian and New Zealand Exclusive Limited Edition of just 1,500 bears and will come to you in his original box, with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
Please note the condition of original box, although really good for it's 26/27 year age, there is a minimal crease, minor scrapes and faded water marks due to storage. This is no way deters from the charm of the bear and is priced accordingly.
