The Polar Express is a magical Christmas tale, originally written as a children's picture book and released in 1985 by Chris Van Allsburg. With potential to become so much more, a computer-animated, fantasy adventure was released in 2004, featuring the legendary Tom Hanks, appearing and voicing numerous characters, including the train's conductor. It begins on the night of Christmas Eve, when the Polar Express stops outside the home of a little boy. The kindly conductor invites him aboard and the fun and excitement soon follows. To mark the 10 year Anniversary release of the film, Steiff designed and created the Polar Express Conductor Bear in collaboration with Warner Bros.
The Conductor is a fully jointed 30cm character teddy bear. He has been sewn from the finest, luxuriously dense light-brass mohair, with warm wool felt paws, glossy black safety eyes and matching handstitched nose and mouth. He proudly wears his dark-blue wool-felt waistcoat, with four brass-coloured buttons, embroidered PE insignia in golden thread and pockets. Upon his head sits his dark-blue wool-felt conductors cap, with contrast black faux leather brim and a genuine brass plate, confirming who he is. Going back to his waistcoat pockets, his right pocket is home to the mystical pocket watch, which has been customised to match the unique face of the pocket watch, in both the film and the book, bringing the piece to life.
This fabulous Licensed Product is a Limited Edition of only 1,500 bears and will come to you boxed, with his numbered certificate of authenticity.
